With the promise of some new tunes from Dysphemic and SixBux’s Tumble, ShiKung starts out with a Crunk/DnB vibe with Loops Haunt, Sir Charles and the huge James Blake remix from R/D.

ShiKung does a southern hemisphere mini mix including the first of many tracks from the awesome “Up The Duff” compilation including Mahari Ziller, ShifteQ, Trimaxis and Crazy Daylight. Get the link below and support local talent. Also included in that is NZ legend Organikismness and his remix of Adele.

In next segment such Glitch This fav’s as Bobby Tank, +Verb and Bleep Bloop feature as well as Sydney based 44Hertz with his tune “Preaching to the Choir”.

Then Glitch This features the new project from Ben Samples awesomely named Karate Quinoa and its tune “Autumn” and then one of An-ten-nae’s latest promo tune a mash up of Santigold.

Keeping it local for the end segment, it features ShiKung’s good mate Hooves and the Smash Brothers, Blunt Instrument, and the new Remix from Dysphemic of Bankai and Abortifacient, and the new free track from Tumble “Cash for Crunkers”.

Its Ghostsoul’s birthday so ShiKung bust a quick mini-mix in his honour before ending up with Australia’s new favourite Hip Hop group Runforyourlife!

ShiKung comes through with a more upbeat version of Glitch This Radio than he has delivered in the recent few weeks. Starting out with Waggles Remix of McFly Was A Rasta and An-ten-nae’s hot remix of MIA he drops it down for a minute to drop Tar-nay’s deep cut “Early Morning Shine” thats soon to be released on SixBux productions one of Glitch This’s favourite labels (so get on there and support them). Regular listeners know that New Zealand lad K+Lab is a Glitch This fav and his remix of Tipper’s Ton of Bricks has been getting flogged recently and you can see why, followed up by another fav ShiftEq’s fun as remix of “Walk This Way”. Of course everyone knows that Blunt Instrument pretty much get played of every edition of Glitch This Radio and in this episode ShiKung just smashes two of their tracks together and then moves on with it. Dropping a few of his local favourites with A Baker’s Dozen awesome remix of Architecture In Helsinki and Yenk’s “False Truth”, ShiKung then got a few shout outs for dropping Quade’s hot remix of Burning Spear. The whole set builds up getting pretty heavy with Kurk Kokane’s bootleg remix of Lloyd Banks “Warrior” (sorry bout the hungover ears Lachie) then features Australia’s Glitch Hop super group Circuit Bent, Mr Bill, Tom Cosm and Sun in Aquarius make sure you get there and support that one. Then it drops back in tempo with a special showcase of Distracted from New Zealand coz she is awesome (and it was her birthday), wrapping up with an old vinyl favourite from the 90’s with I:Cube and the delicious Silence! ShiKung keeps it on a mellow vibe due a big week attending at the KRS one and Opiuo gigs. Starting out on a Dubstep tip featuring artists such as Requake, Rude Kid, Taz leading to Ill.Gates and Steezie Wonders remix of King Kapisi, and Dysphemic & Miss Eliza’s remix of Audego’s “Monster Mongrel” and Blunt Instrument with “Take The K Train”. Before the change up ShiKung also busts out some more Melbourne music with Yenks remixing Manu Chao then the style changes up to a more Electric Soul tip starting out with The Clonious Remix of Take’s “Neon Beams”. This section features many Melbourne locals such as Unsoundbwoy, Cazeaux Oslo, Damage Control, Sizzle, The Baroness and Able8 before finishing on a classic The Future Sound Of London. Monday morning elevates to the nek lev when i spy the Entanglement album released on Bandcamp, featuring 4 of the top producers in the Glitch Hop realm collaborating on a free 4 track release. Circuit Bent, Mr Bill, Tom Cosm, and Sun In Aquarius are no strangers to local dancefloors or digital airwaves and the prospect of a combined release mastered by none the less than Spoonbill

Starting out with “Incompusmentus” is a party tune but with a deep nature with and electric soul qwearkyness and a drum n bass inspired beat and quite naturally sounds like the styles of each producer sitting over the top of each other.

“Salt Water” starts out a bit more laid back sounding like Circuit Bent & Mr. Bill had a hazy day in the studio having fun building beats and pushing each other and moving through genres.

“Tangle” sees Sun In Aquarius influencing the sounds with some organic sounding guitar vocal and percussion samples. Featuring a chunky bouncing beat and a dropped down breakdown this track makes me look for the papers.

“Coke & Caviar” is as decedent as the title suggests a lushed out, moving, techno inspired track filled with glitch abstractions and little musical interludes makes this tune a smiling head nodder.

ShiKung steps up slightly worse for wear after the Glitch This Workshop session the night before but still manages to deliver a solid radio session. Starting out with some of the highlights from the night before with Mimosa, Flosstradamus, +verb, Melbourne local Yenks, Sir Charles, and Ionik. Having played the Vibesquad remix of Big Boi’s “Shutterbug” until its binary code was starting to unravel ShiKung plays the Unlimited Gravity remix. Starting to drop in some Australian tracks near the end the stand out being the Worldwide radio exclusive of the new Ghostsoul track “Skulls to Master”, also playing Blunt Instrument, Mustard Tiger, Tar-Nay, Audego, Dysphemic & Miss Eliza. This shows last track was plugging MoneyKats single Nothing Is Safe which just was released as a video so check that link out as well.

Fresh from playing the Qbert edition of Bwomp, ShiKung starts his show by playing some of the highlights from his set at Brown Alley. Glitch This Radio has recently discovered the sounds of Florida native Sir Charles and he features quite heavily through out the show as does Vibesquad who is always a favourite. Definitely the vibe for show 103 was Southern love, whilst it wasn’t quite a aussie beat special there was some of ShiKung’s favourites from around Australia and New Zealand. Starting out with A Baker’s Dozen remix of K+Lab we then moved into K+Lab’s new tune with Sacha Vee in anticipation of K+Labs show at Brown Alley on Feb 17th! Blunt Instrument have just released their new EP “Pockets” and ShiKung makes sure to play all the tracks on the show, starting with a 3 pack he then busts the rest out during the show! Later in the show there is a mini-mix of the new Uncomfortable Beats #2 compilation focusing on local beats. Check the track list for the links. All this and still busting a fun show. Ending with RunForYorLife who are releasing their debut album live to air on PBS on valentines day morning at 9am on FM radio in Melbourne. Wow action packed, get on it!

First GTR for February!! ShiKung starts out at a Mid-tempo vibe on a hot and humid Sunday arvo in Melburn with local producers A Baker’s Dozen and Yenks and a taste of Moombahton. Also playing Blunt Instrument’s winning submission for the Dj Shadow Remix EP, he then represents some tunes from K+Lab for his upcoming show on the Feb 17. That flips it to a slower Crunk tempo with some new things from Shifteq, Unlimited Gravity, +Verb and Minnesota before finishing up with a Percee P and Aesop Rock classic Hip Hop tune. Quite tasty.
